Motoko’s Summer Trends
Hey Motoko!
Hey Motoko! I have a problem.. Whenever I line my eyes with dark eyeliners (such as black or dark brown), it looks like my eyes have closed up even more! I have the crease, but it’s rather small. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
Laura.
Hello Laura,
Usually, the role of eyeliners is to define eyes and make them look bigger. Especially for asian eyes, liners on your eyes opens them more.
If you think the liners close your eyes instead of open them, then it’s better not to draw the lines. It also might be that eyeliner doesn’t work well on your face. I’ve never seen you before, so I can’t tell you exactly what you should do, but it might be a good idea for your eyes that you just apply mascara only with light tone eyeshadow, which is light creamy, pearly or lime greenish colors to lighten up your small crease.
One more thing, you may be drawing liners too thick to fit your eyes, so that your eyes may look smaller.
Try to draw lines on the lashes line. With a dotting motion, fill the space between lashes with a pencil or liquid liner. You can have thin liner showing your crease more. I hope this suggestion will work for you.
Summer Trend
This summer, try using a shiny nude color on the crease of your eyes & an apricot color on your cheeks (bronzer is always good in summer) and shiny lip gloss.
Lip should be glossy with nude color (but not pale) or coral/peach/orange color. You can make lips glossy with a matte lipstick plus clear lip gloss.
Skin should be dewy, too. Use tinted moisturized foundation or add your daily cream lotion to your foundation and apply it on your face.
Put powder under the eyes, on your smile lines & T-zone a little bit, not all over your face, sprinkle touch!
Splash your face with shining stuff in Summer!!
Please leave your questions at the bottom and Motoko will answer in the next issue
