“As a veteran prosecutor, she will bring her talent and experience to the California Attorney General’s Office. Kamala will work every day to make sure that insurance companies follow the new health insurance reform law and that California’s consumers get what they are paying for.”

The endorsement will likely play well in the liberal Bay Area, but could have the potential to hurt Harris in more conservative areas of the state if she makes it through the primary. Harris also secured Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s endorsement last weekend while she was on the home turf of opponent Rocky Delgadillo, the city’s former City Attorney.
