JabbaWockeez favor SuperCr3w
Tonight is the finale of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. Last month we met JabbaWockeez, last season's winner, at SCAT Productions' benefit for Children's Chance Foundation. Chris Gatdula, Kevin Brewer, Phil Tayag and Joe Larot were in attendence. We just had to ask them who they thought was going to win this season's competition. Their answer: Super Cr3w or Fanny Pak. Read on for the short interview we did with these really talented guys.
ASIANCE: Where do you draw your inspiration for you choreography?
Jabba: Definitely from each other and God. We believe in God. We don’t watch too much TV to draw from other dancers. We’re friends and we’re inspired by our Crew. Music
ASIANCE: Who is your favorite this season?
Jabba: Super Crew and Fanny Pak?
ASIANCE: Do you keep in touch with any groups from your season?
Jabba: We keep in touch with Kabba. A lot of the groups that did the show come and see us!
ASIANCE: Now that you’re in NY/NJ for a little bit what are you planning to do?
Joe Larot: This is my first time on the East Coast!
Phil Tayag: We haven’t gone out to see anyone yet. So we may need to go out and go to a dance club to go dancing. (laughs) I think it’s beautiful here on the East Coast.. It’s such a different flow out here. Very upbeat!
ASIANCE: Are you nervous about performances?
Joe Larot: I kinda get nervous..If you get entertained by us naturally because of what we do that is exciting!
Phil Tayag: Since we live in different cities, it was hard to get together but since we were doing the show we got together a lot.
ASIANCE: Do you get recognized now? Jabba: Yes!
ASIANCE: How does that feel?
Kevin Brewer: Different. People know your name so if you go to the grocery store, they’ll say “Kevin!” But we are definitely blessed and so happy people appreciate what we do! It’s very humbling. Hopefully we’ll keep inspiring people.
ASIANCE: How many hours a day do you practice?
Jabba: It’s very little compared to how some others practice. It’s a God given talent. So when you have God as the driving force, you can’t do anything wrong. For the most part, I think it’s amazing that we can create these types of pieces with the amount of time we put into it. Sometimes when we step back and take an objective view, we’ll be like “wow how did we do that?”
We rehearse individually and train separately. One lives in Vegas, one lives in Sacramento. We’re all spread out but by the time we get together, we are ready. We’re so used to being around each other so we have that chemistry.
ASIANCE: Do you have girlfriends?
Kevin: I’m married. Chris Gatdula: Single Phil Tayag: Single Joe Larot: Single
Don't forget to watch tonight!

I’m a very big fan at what ya’ll and I am inspired by what ya’ll do. Sometimes I wonder if ya’ll would let any girls join ya’ll group such as myself because I love to dance.
