Conference Call for Asian Americans about Transition process

APIAVote has been hosting a series of conference calls to familiarize and demystify the Transition processes of the Administration & Congress. As the 111th Congress gets sworn in on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009, this call is all the more timely and relevant. Communities will be looking to both the White House and the Hill for policy changes and renewed priorities. This call (2PM EST), the third in the series, will feature key AAPI staff in the House and the Senate. The discussion will revolve around the key roles AAPIs have and can have in the legislative branch, as well as the legislative advocacy work of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) and various policy and leadership committees. Guest speakers will also be providing insight and category_idance on how to navigate career opportunities on Capitol Hill at such a crucial time. Guest speakers will be Debra Wada and Erika Moritsugu. Wada is a Professional Staff Member of the House Armed Services Committee and Lead Staffer for the Military Personnel Subcommittee. Wada has had over 20 years of experience working in various positions on the Hill. Moritsugu is an economic policy advisor to the Democratic Policy Committee, Office of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Her community work includes founder and co-chair, D.C. AAPI caucus, and past executive director of Asian American Action Fund. Information on how to register below.
