Supermodel Chanel Iman Backstage

Chanel Iman is in such demand as a model, she’s often booked back to back. Tonight she walked in Thisday/Arise African Fashion Collective and then she showed up fashionably late to the Academy of Art University show.

Her mom came to the show. She’s a petite, well-dressed Korean woman with diamond encrusted Chanel glasses. I tried to get a picture of the two of them, but Chanel was running all over the place and I couldn’t find the mom after that.

When Chanel came down the runway, many people clapped and stood up for her, something I only saw once before…oh and she’s super sweet and nice, definitely not like the models of the ’90s (ie. blackberries and not getting out of bed for $10,000 a day)
