Boeing has some competition!
Honda has unveiled its first ever aircraft, HondaJet, at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. Being the flag bearer in advanced technology, Honda has come up true to its reputation, as its Jet incorporates many technological advances in aviation design. Like its engines that are placed above the wings instead of below have three benefits – it reduces the drag and improves fuel efficiency, cuts noise pollution on the ground and paves the way for more space in the aircraft cabin.
Apart from these, the luxury aircraft features composite fuselage – similar to one in Boeing 787 Dreamliner – which is not only lighter but stronger than traditional alloys used for the main section of the aircraft. Hondajet is decked with leather interiors, has exception leg room and unique lavatory features in chrome and blue. The aircraft will be delivered to customers in the third quarter of 2012 with a price tag of US $4.5 million.
