We were really hoping that Freida Pinto’s latest film, ‘Miral’ would propel her into the ranks of the Hollywood elite, but since the movie just premiered at the Venice Film Festival, her performace has received less than stellar reviews.

Critics are disappointed by her performance in the film, which is Freida Pinto’s first movie post ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

Directed by Oscar-nominated director Julian Schnabel, the movie has been nominated for the Golden Lion Trophy at the Venice Film Festival, but critics have been quite open about Pinto’s bad acting.

According to the The Telegraph, UK, “The film wears its heart on its sleeve and its awkwardness, too. It’s terribly earnest, and characters often speak dialogue that resembles a history lecture.”

We’ll just have to see for ourselves.
