Slumdog child actress Rubina Ali in commercial with Kidman

Slumdog Millionaire child star Rubina Ali is continuing on the road to stardom – she has landed a role in a commercial with Nicole Kidman.

The eight-year-old actress was plucked from the slums of Mumbai, India to star in Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning movie, and her father hopes that her rising profile could lead to a better life for the family.

The nine year-old, who still lives in the Mumbai slums and who had a trust fund set up by film executives, spent three days shooting a soft drinks commercial in India with Kidman for which her father claims she was paid more than for the film.
