Freida Pinto is highest paid Indian actress

Reports suggest that Freida Pinto, star of the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire is touted to be the highest paying indian actress. The success of Slumdog which took eight Oscars and whose box office receipts are estimated at over $270 million has put the indian actress turned model in huge demand.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, she has pushed ahead of her colleagues Kareena Kapoor , Katrina Kaif and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, to become the highest paid actress in India.The British daily, quoting sources close to the Indian star, said her earnings have now topped 2 million pounds.

‘Freida can’t be compared to Aishwarya because we’re not pitching her as an Indian girl in international films. Freida is a true global face,’ Anirban Das, CEO of her management company, was quoted as saying in the report.

That’s because there are millions of girls who can identify with a Freida Pinto. It’s about time the industry (and ALL industries) start catering to Asians, particularly Asians in America.
