This is not a good sign. Seeing how Freida Pinto’s latest movie ‘Miral’ received less than stellar reviews at the Venice Film Festival this year, The Playlist’s report has stated that the release of Julian Schnabel‘s film has been delayed until 2011.

Miral is Freida’s first leading role, among a strong supporting cast, which includes Hiam Abbass (The Visitor), Willem Dafoe, and Vanessa Redgrave.

Unfortunately, though, not enough people have gotten behind the film to convince The Weinstein Company that its December 3 release date should stick, prime Oscar contender time. Instead, with Miral being pushed back, Harvey Weinstein will be able to focus solely on one very legitimate Oscar contender: Tom Hooper‘s The King’s Speech.

That is too bad! We were really hoping for a hit for Freida!
