J.Y.Park, CEO of JYPE, founder of Rain and creator of Wonder Girls

J.Y.Park, CEO of JYPE, founder of Rain and creator of Wonder Girls discusses his journey in building a global brand that crosses cultural boundaries. Creating a star today is much different than the last global star, Michael Jackson. Park believes the internet and social media have changed the way global stars are created. He should know! He was a pop star in Korea before Rain and now manages a successful entertainment company in the United States and Asia.

Some key points in the presentation:

  1. The world is divided by taste, no longer region.
  2. In order for America to reach this under-utilized global market there are 2 important qualities: we must learn to be multi-lingual and multi-cultural.
  3. The Wonder Girls trained for 6 years, Rain trained for 4. This is just training.
  4. American artists are no longer investing the time to become multi-talented and versatile artists. He’s right about this! So sad!

Watch for yourself!
