Tiger and Anthony Kim – great athletes, great guys

Tiger Woods birdied the 16th hole for a one-shot win at golf’s AT&T National, the U.S. PGA Tour event he hosts at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, yesterday.

In the picture above: Gunnery Sgt. Michael F. Barrett putts for Tiger Woods during the Earl Woods Memorial Pro-Am golf tournament at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md., July 1. Barrett, a combat wounded Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran and a Marine of 16 years, was one of 26 service members who acted as professional caddies at the Pro-Am tournament, which was part of the AT&T National Golf Tournament.

From an email sent out to some Marines. "This is my buddy Mike Barrett that I work with. Purple Heart winner and now world famous caddie for a day at AT&T Tournament. He caddied for Anthony Kim in the morning for the par 3 and then had Tiger, Tony Romo (Dallas QB) and congressman Bohner, the senior Republican in the house. He was on news and his photos with Tiger were on The Golf Channel website. This one was from a Marine Times posting. Tiger and Romo had him putt for them during the pro am on that hole. He didn’t make it, but Tiger gave him his ball from that hole and a glove signed, "To Mike, Thanks for all you do, You Friend, Tiger Woods". Anthony Kim gave him a wedge right out of his bag and a dozen of his Nike Tour One balls. What a day for Mike."
