MIAAC Film Festival – November 10 – 14

The Tenth Annual MIAAC Film Festival is the destination for feature films, documentaries, and shorts from, and about, the Indian subcontinent. MIAAC features a mix of film screenings, discussions, industry panels, nightly parties, an awards ceremony, and gala red carpet events. MIAAC is a once-a-year opportunity to network with artists and leaders from the global film industry, and to experience the rich film cultures of the Indian subcontinent.

Memories in March is the festival centerpiece

Siddharth, a 28-year old man, is killed in an accident and his grief stricken mother comes to Kolkata to collect his belongings. Looking through what the young Siddharth has left behind in his home, office and among his friends at the advertising agency he had recently joined, she discovers a son and a life she had not known existed. She finds she must share his belongings and her grief with others he had left behind. The finely observed and deeply moving screenplay by Rituparno Ghosh is sensitively filmed by Sanjoy Nag in Nag’s debut feature.

It’s making its US Premiere at this festival. The film is in
English, Hindi, Bengali (with English subtitles).
