Freddie Roach, the trainer for Manny Pacquiao, said he believed Floyd Mayweather
Freddie Roach, the trainer for Manny Pacquiao, said he believed Floyd Mayweather Jr. could be preparing for a long-awaited bout with Pacquiao by returning to the ring in September against Victor Ortiz, the World Boxing Council welterweight champion.
Roach said he thought Mayweather, who will end a 16-month layoff, had agreed to fight Ortiz because his style would help him prepare for a bout with Pacquiao. Ortiz and Pacquiao are fast, high-volume punchers who press the action. They are also left-handed, and Mayweather has rarely fought left-handed opponents.
Could he be sick of being called a “coward”?
