The New York Post reported that Alexander Wang released a promotional music video with hot hip-hop artist Santigold on Wednesday to show off his resort collection two weeks after Prabal Gurung used the same format with hip-hop artist Rye Rye to show off his own collection.

Alexander Wang released his new campaign video and posted ads all over New York City for his Fall ’11 T by Alexander Wang line. These new crop of ads and the accompanying video feature uber cool rapper/singer Santigold and rapper Spankrock – continuing the freshness from past campaigns that featured Zoe Kravitz and Diplo.

The ads are shot by Dan Jackson and the video features a remix of Santigold’s single, “Go.”

Here’s Prabal Gurung’s “New Thing”

Prabal Gurung‘s “New Thing,” aside from a catchy song that’s now dancing in all of our heads, is his first resort collection. It’s a video featuring singer and muse Rye Rye titled “New Thing” gives us a glimpse at his vivid clothes. Every aspect of the video is derived from the collection, which looks like it’s going to be packed with color, polka dots and florals!
Prabal and Rye Rye make for the perfect pair. “I was immediately taken by how unique and dynamic her music was…Her authentic sound and tremendous energy was exactly what we were looking for, and I have always loved her bright, personal style” Gurung said of the singer.

Sort of reminds me of MIA. Even mentions XXXO, one of MIA’s songs.
