Carolina Herrera – Heads Above the Rest

You can always expect to find understated sophistication at Carolina Herrera’s shows – something for the Park Avenue doyennes who can afford to buy her clothes, no doubt, and her RTW Fall 2011 did not disappoint with beautifully cut coats and jackets in jacquard and boucle in bold jewel tones.

Herrera showed a strong collection of lush simplicity. Her collections are never fussy – rather, they show a refined elegance that has come to define Herrera’s style. The luxury of her designs is always in the execution – from the excellence in drapery to the details of beading and fur.

For Fall 2011, Herrera gave us simple wool shifts with unexpected pleats and caplet collars on otherwise streamlined dresses and coats. No one expects everyday from Carolina Herrera – and she didn’t disappoint.
