Taiwan singer Jay Chou has become a shareholder of Ucan Technology (Macau)
Taiwan singer Jay Chou has become a shareholder of Ucan Technology (Macau) Company Limited, said Ucan Technology’s parent company, Hong Kong-listed Culturecom Holdings Limited on Tuesday, reported Hong Kong media.
Apart from being a shareholder of Ucan Technology, a company which is developing a 3D interactive social networking come gaming website, Chou will be the website’s cultural ambassador for the next two years.
This also means that the company will be able to use Chou’s name, image and voice in their web products.
However, fans of Chou’s music need not worry.
A spokesperson for Chou’s music company JVR Music said that Jay will continue to devote the bulk of his time on his music career and stressed that “Jay has indeed become a shareholder of Ucan but he will not be involved in the firm’s operations, though he will still attend the important meetings”.
Prior to his venture with Ucan Technology, Chou, who only recently released his new album “Exclamation Mark”, has dabbled in many businesses over the course of his career, ranging from an antique shop to fashion stores and theme restaurants.
