Sachiko Ishida<\/strong> is an actress, writer, producer, and model. She was born in Kyoto, Japan and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career in acting. Sachiko<\/strong> has had a creative streak since she was little. She loves drawing, making stories, taking pictures, and is now working on her first feature.<\/em><\/p>\n

Asiance: How did you like Los Angeles when you first arrived? <\/h3>\n

Sachiko:<\/b> I thought the weather was nice\u2026the people and driving, not so much. <\/p>\n

Asiance: Tell us about your newest project, \u201cSuika\u201d. What is it about? <\/h3>\n

Sachiko:<\/b> It is a comedy that takes place at a restaurant. It is a fun, family movie.<\/p>\n

Asiance: I hear you are teaming up to form a new production company. What type of work will you do? <\/h3>\n

Sachiko:<\/b> We just made a short film called “The Sushi Bar”. My partner for the company, Mio Takada san, he is also a Japanese, and I want to keep our cultural background and originality in our work instead of copying or trying to make Hollywood films.<\/p>\n

Asiance: You are quite an accomplished actress as well. I remember you appeared in \u201cHe\u2019s Just Not Into You\u201d with Jennifer Aniston. What was that like?<\/h3>\n

Sachiko:<\/b> I just played very small part in it. It was fun though. I definitely want to accomplish more. (laughs) Although we (Asian\/Japanese actresses) have more chances than probably 10-20 years ago, but still, it is challenging. Also, if the role was really a big Japanese role, they tend to cast Japanese celebrities, so I am working on my accent to be able to play wider varieties of roles.<\/p>\n
