{"id":10131,"date":"2011-08-28T02:08:21","date_gmt":"2011-08-28T02:08:21","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-08-28T04:08:16","modified_gmt":"2011-08-28T04:08:16","slug":"Kal-Penn-Leaves-the-White-House-for-good","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=10131","title":{"rendered":"Kal Penn Leaves the White House for good"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After two years as an <strong>Associate Director in the Office of Public Engagement, Kal Penn <\/strong>is leaving the White House again and going back to his day job in Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p>Penn announced to <strong>Craig Ferguson <\/strong>on Ferguson&#8217;s late night chat show on Thursday that he was leaving his position in the White House but hopes to help with President Obama&#8217;s re-election campaign. <\/p>\n<p>The Indo-American actor left Hollywood in 2009 and his role in the TV show, &#8220;House&#8221;, to work in Washington. He will make his Hollywood return in this season&#8217;s &#8220;How I Met Your Mother&#8221;.  He left the White House once before in June 2010 to film &#8220;A Very Harold &#038; Kumar Christmas&#8221; but returned in November to resume his White House duties. <strong>But he told Ferguson he thinks this time he&#8217;s leaving politics for good.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Penn first became involved with the Obama campaign in 2007 as a volunteer.
