The USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism is an innovative, full-service school in a networked university that is in the most diverse and global city in the United States.<\/p>\n

From its founding in 1971, USC Annenberg has been a leader in the communication revolution. Its location at the University of Southern California in the heart of Los Angeles puts it at the crossroads of media, entertainment, technology and globalization \u2013 an intersection with an unlimited number of possible paths. <\/p>\n

Meet Isabelle Hu, who received a Master of Global Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism this May.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: What University did you attend? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> University of Southern California (USC)<\/p>\n

\nI chose to join some Asian groups because I’m Asian and I have strong interests in Asian culture.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

ASIANCE: Why did you choose USC? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> My school is the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. I have strong interest in the field of communication and my undergraduate study was also in this field.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: What was your major? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> Global Communication. It is a double-degree program: the first year at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the second year at USC. I received an MSc in Global Media and Communications from LSE and an M.A. in Global Communication from USC.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: What will you be doing now that you graduated? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> First, I want to travel and have a restful vacation and then I will find a job in the relevant field of my major.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: What clubs or extracurricular activities did you enjoy? If Asian specific, why did you choose to join? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> The activities let me know more interesting people and gave me the opportunities to learn new things. I chose to join some Asian groups because I’m Asian and I have strong interest in Asian culture.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: What is the hardest part of being a student? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> It didn’t feel hard being a student. Haha,,,<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: What did you look forward to the most about graduating? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> After my undergraduate study, I pursued my master’s degree directly, so I was always a student. For me, graduation means the beginning of a new stage of my life.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: What will you miss about not attending school? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> Maybe USC\u2019s beautiful campus.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: Was there another school you wanted to attend? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> Because I wanted to learn communications, USC was my dream school.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> Wow, this is an interesting question. I see myself in a very happy life: do what I really love to do and stay with my husband whom I love so much.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> Wow, even more interesting. A much happier life: I make huge contributions to the things that I love to do and keep on doing; my husband and I have our lovely kids, and we all love each other very much.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: Any significant accomplishments you would like to add during your time in college? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> Know more about myself.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: Looking back would you do anything differently? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> I will do most things differently, because I am a perfectionist. But I wouldn’t change anything, because all of them is named ‘grow-up’.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: Was there anything hard about being Asian at your school? <\/h3>\n

Isabelle:<\/b> No, not at all.<\/p>\n

ASIANCE: What advice would you give to girls who are looking at colleges right now?<\/h3>\n
