{"id":10230,"date":"2011-09-07T04:09:08","date_gmt":"2011-09-07T04:09:08","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-09-07T04:09:00","modified_gmt":"2011-09-07T04:09:00","slug":"Annie-Le-s-Family-sues-Yale-University","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=10230","title":{"rendered":"Annie Le\u2019s Family sues Yale University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The family of a slain Yale graduate student has filed a lawsuit against the university.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annie Le\u2019s family argues that \u201csexual attacks on and harassment of women at Yale had been a well-documented and long-standing problem<\/strong> and there was a widespread belief that Yale repeatedly failed to impose meaningful discipline on offenders,\u201d according to the Hartford Courant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le was a doctoral pharmacology student<\/strong> who worked on a team that experimented on mice as part of research into enzymes that could have implications for treatment of cancer, diabetes and muscular dystrophy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 24-year-old\u2019s body was found stuffed behind a wall at a Yale lab on Sept. 13, 2009, what was to be her wedding day.<\/strong> Former animal research technician Raymond Clark III was sentenced to 44 years in prison for her killing.<br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The family of a slain Yale graduate student has filed a lawsuit against the university.
