{"id":10502,"date":"2011-09-25T21:09:41","date_gmt":"2011-09-25T21:09:41","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-09-25T21:09:41","modified_gmt":"2011-09-25T21:09:41","slug":"Nagasu-jump-starts-season-with-gold-","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=10502","title":{"rendered":"Nagasu jump starts season with gold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>American Mirai Nagasu jump started her season by winning the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf, Germany. <\/strong>The event is a &#8220;Senior B&#8221; international competition, which many figure skaters use as a pre-season warm-up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nagasu won her first senior ISU event in dominant fashion, with a nearly 20-point victory over Elene Gedevanishvili of Georgia in second.<\/strong> Sweden&#8217;s Joshi Helgesson won the bronze medal.<\/p>\n<p>The 2008 U.S. champion debuted her new tango short program, landing a triple Lutz-double toe combination and a triple loop. In the free skate, Nagasu fell on her hopening triple loop-double loop combination, but rebounded to land four triples.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"500\" height=\"360\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YgytYZYLSXY\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Of concern for Nagasu post-Nebelhorn is the entry edge deduction she received on two of her three triple Lutz jumps and several under-rotation deductions<\/strong>, receiving only 70-percent of the base value for those jumps.<\/p>\n<p>While it appears Nagasu has some cleaning up to do before Skate Canada, a win in Oberstdorf is a good confidence boost and no one is expected to be perfect in September, but rather advised not to be. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.universalsports.com\/news-blogs\/blogs\/blog=gofigure\/postid=558550.html\">Source<\/a><br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>American Mirai Nagasu jump started her season by winning the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf, Germany.
