In keeping with her tradition, Michelle Obama wore a Korean American dress designer to the state dinner President Obama hosted for the South Korean President and his wife.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Doo-Ri Chung<\/strong>, a Parsons School of Design grad, found out that Michelle had chosen the draped, jersey dress only as the dinner was getting under way.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was out at an event, and I got a phone call. I was just so excited,\u201d Chung said.<\/p>\n

Chung and her team had been kept in the dark about whether Michelle would choose the dress.<\/p>\n

Other great Korean American designers Michelle Obama probably considered were Richard Chai<\/strong> and the iconic Gemma Kahng<\/a><\/strong>. Gemma designed clothes for Madonna and numerous celebrities. You can see a recent video Steven Speliotis did for us with her below:
