The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) will honor Indian music composer AR Rahman with its Lifetime Achievement Award.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rahman has won a huge array of awards previously, including two Grammys and two Oscars for his work on Slumdog Millionaire.<\/p>\n

His award at DIFF, held from December 7 to 14, will see him become the festival\u2019s youngest recipient of the prize. Past recipients include Sean Penn, Amitabh Bachchan and Oliver Stone.<\/strong> Among Rahman\u2019s other scores are that of 127 Hours, which screened at last year\u2019s festival, Bollywood releases such as Ghajini, Delhi-6 and the recent Rockstar, plus collaborations with Mick Jagger, Joss Stone and Michael Bolton.<\/p>\n

An Honorary Fellow of the Trinity College of Music, Rahman is a recipient of India\u2019s high civilian honor, the Padma Bhushan, and was named as one of the \u2018World\u2019s Most Influential People\u2019 by Time in 2009.<\/strong> Credited with redefining Indian film music, Rahman\u2019s soulful compositions blend the intricacies of Western and Indian classical with folk sounds, Qawwali and symphonic orchestral themes. <\/p>\n

Rahman will also kick off his world tour with a concert in Dubai on December 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n
