{"id":11726,"date":"2011-12-26T03:12:18","date_gmt":"2011-12-26T03:12:18","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-12-26T03:12:18","modified_gmt":"2011-12-26T03:12:18","slug":"Sony-and-Samsung-wind-up-in-joint-venture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=11726","title":{"rendered":"Sony and Samsung wind up in joint venture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Japanese electronics giant Sony has agreed to sell its stake in a joint liquid crystal display panel venture in South Korea to its partner Samsung Electronics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Samsung will acquire all of Sony&#8217;s stake in S-LCD Corp., making it a wholly owned subsidiary of the Korean company, they said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Asian electronics giants have worked together since the 1990s in the semiconductor and LCD fields.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They established S-LCD in South Korea in 2004 to jointly produce LCD panels mainly used for televisions.
