{"id":12398,"date":"2012-02-24T04:02:53","date_gmt":"2012-02-24T04:02:53","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2012-02-24T04:02:53","modified_gmt":"2012-02-24T04:02:53","slug":"-Linsanity-sparks-trademark-war","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=12398","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Linsanity&#8217; sparks trademark war"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The fanatical frenzy surrounding New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is becoming even more Linsane.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A trademark war is brewing over the catch-phrase that describes the crazed excitement around Lin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Since his breakout 25-point game against the Nets on Feb. 4, there have been seven applications filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark &#8220;Linsanity&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That includes one by Pamela Deese, a lawyer representing Lin.<\/p>\n<p>The applications cover use of the phrase on everything from cellphone cases and sunglasses to action figures and footwear.<\/p>\n<p>A trademark can take a year or more to register.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The NBA says Lin jerseys have been the hottest selling jerseys at its online store since Feb. 4.<\/strong> It is preparing to sell more Lin-related merchandise like bobbleheads and plush animals.<\/p>\n<p><em>Source AP<\/em><br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The fanatical frenzy surrounding New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is becoming even more Linsane.
