No matter the amount of comments\/no comments I really appreciate this platform that I have to vent\/discuss\/express my opinions not just about interracial dating, but life in general.<\/p>\n<p>I recently hit a roadblock, but believe that everything happens for a reason. I will continue to stay positive and know that if you continue working hard, you will be where you want to be.<\/p>\n<p>With that said&#8230;what is so compelling and tasty you might ask? Jiro Dreams of Sushi!<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday George and I went to the New Orleans Third Annual Film-O-Rama and watched a touching, hilarious film about 85 year-old Jiro Ono and his quest to perfection in sushi-crafting. His sons both trail his legacy. His oldest son, can&#8217;t remember names right now, who is 50 years-old must stay in the business until his father dies before taking over. His younger son has opened his own sushi &#8220;sanctuary&#8221; but hasn&#8217;t changed anything on the menu in order to preserve his legacy. <\/p>\n<p>There are so many undertones of Asian tradition that I hope people understand. For instance, there are no woman who work with them. The old school is never tampered with. The way they have a specialist for every simple aspect of the sushi, from the rice to the hand-picked fish to preparing and slicing the fish. It is an amazing depiction of how something we all love and crave can be broken down to the highest grade of detail and simplicity.<\/p>\n<p>What was also exciting was that the director, David Gelb, was there. He stayed after the film for a Q&#038;A session and explained how absolutely mind-blowing Jiro&#8217;s sushi tasted, among other things such as how long it took to film (about 1-1.5 years) and what gave him the idea to make a film about Jiro. He originally wanted to do a film about several sushi masters, but they all told him that Jiro was truly the person that needed to be documented. What an incredible, funny guy.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure when the film will be for release, but I believe it will be in July.
