{"id":13053,"date":"2012-05-06T18:05:36","date_gmt":"2012-05-06T18:05:36","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2012-05-06T18:05:14","modified_gmt":"2012-05-06T18:05:14","slug":"-A-Chorus-Line--makes-Asia-debut-in-Singapore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=13053","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;A Chorus Line&#8221; makes Asia debut in Singapore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>One of America&#8217;s longest-running musicals, A Chorus Line, is in Singapore.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With more than 6,000 performances over 15 years, the broadway classic is making its rounds in Asia, with Singapore as its first stop.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3SijoU1UMkk\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A Chorus Line carries the stories of the people behind broadway musicals &#8211; giving the audience a taste of the trials that performers go through in the quest for a role.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, the performers feel for their characters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The musical was first staged in 1975.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Little has changed, according to the associate director and choreographer, who used to perform in the original production.<\/p>\n<p>The performers may be from a different generation but their stories of aspirations, hopes and fears are timeless.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It gives us hope, in that everyone&#8217;s looking for a job, everyone&#8217;s looking for their purpose, and hopefully, we get to pursue our dream and actually make a living at it, or at least have the nerve to take that step and try to pursue your dream,&#8221; added Michael Gorman.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Chorus Line is running at the Marina Bay Sands Theatre until 27 May.<\/strong><br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of America&#8217;s longest-running musicals, A Chorus Line, is in Singapore.
