52-year-old Filipino, Erlinda Elemen, who is a resident of the U.S., has said in her lawsuit that she was subjected to racist slurs and disallowed from practicing her Christian faith while she was a live-in nanny for five years, according to a report on Thursday in The Huffington Post.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elemen claims that she was told not speak to Stone\u2019s three children because she didn\u2019t want to them to \u201ctalk like you\u201d, a reference to her Filipino accent the blog reports.<\/p>\n

According to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, Stone \u201cequated being Filipino with being stupid,\u201d<\/strong> reports New York Daily News.<\/p>\n

The newspaper goes on to quote the lawsuit as saying \u201cStone was \u2018dismissive\u2019 of her deeply held religious beliefs, criticized her for attending church and once forbade her from reading the bible in the family\u2019s house.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elemen also said that Stone initially paid her overtime but then accused her of stealing the pay and fired her in February after she refused to return the money to the actress.<\/p>\n

The actress has denied the charges. In a statement released to the Huffington Post, her spokesperson said: \u201cThis is an absurd lawsuit that has been filed by a disgruntled ex-employee who is obviously looking to get money any way she can\u2026 Sharon Stone will be completely vindicated in court.\u201d<\/p>\n

Executive director of the Pilipino Workers Center in Los Angeles, Aquilina Soriano, commended Elemen for her action.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s really great that she is filing a case, because a lot of times people are too afraid to file a case against these things,\u201d she told The Huffington Post.
