The Latino vote is a much sought-after prize in this year\u2019s presidential election, so it makes sense that both sides have Spanish-language websites courting Hispanic voters.<\/strong> However, a keen pair of eyes discovered a gaffe on one such Republican site: the top banner featured a group of children that weren\u2019t Latino \u2014 but Asian.<\/strong><\/p>\n

RNClatinos.com\u2019s mix-up was discovered by US News and World Report when a reporter there realized the stock photo, downloaded from Shutterstock, included search terms such as \u201casia,\u201d \u201casian,\u201d \u201cinterracial,\u201d \u201cJapanese\u201d and \u201cThailand\u201d \u2014 a strong sign the children in the photo aren\u2019t Hispanic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The site is run by the Republican National Committee, which launched it to \u201chave open communication about the goals and vision of the Republican Party\u201d with Latino voters<\/strong>, according to a message posted to the site by Sharon Day, vice chairman of the RNC.<\/p>\n

At present, the site\u2019s been altered and includes no imagery.<\/strong> An RNC spokeswoman told Talking Points Memo that an \u201coutside vendor\u201d developed RNClatinos.com. That vendor, Av Graffix, did not immediately respond to Mashable\u2019s request for a comment.<\/p>\n
