The split decision for Timothy Bradley over Manny Pacquiao was either an example of incompetence or outside influence of the judges in Las Vegas on June 9.<\/strong> There’s no other possible way to explain how Pacquiao, who landed 34% of his punches, could lose by decision to a fighter who landed only 19%.<\/p>\n

Arum, the 80-year-old chairman of Top Rank Promotions, represents both fighters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“This is an international kind of story. There are people all over the world looking to blame somebody for this,” he said.
\nIn a decision that sent shock waves through the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Bradley was declared the winner by split decision. <\/p>\n

The decision resulted in boos raining down toward the ring, where HBO’s Max Kellerman was trying to interview Pacquiao and Bradley.<\/p>\n

Arum says “The conspiracy theory is that somehow I arranged this to create a rematch, which would give me another big fight until Floyd (Mayweather, who is serving an 87-day jail sentence) is ready to fight.”

Well what else would explain the judges’ decisions?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arum represents both fighters. <\/strong>He was so angry shortly after the fight, he told reporters that the sport was killing itself.<\/p>\n

By Sunday, he had moved beyond anger to despair.<\/p>\n

Arum knows he’s a natural scapegoat but swears he had no ulterior motive or any part in the decision.<\/strong> And he’s worried about the sport in which he’s spent his life.<\/p>\n

“When the guys at the (Las Vegas) sportsbooks are talking about not betting on boxing anymore, I take that very, very seriously,” he says.<\/p>\n

Of course you take this seriously, because when you start messing with OTHER people’s money, that is when you start getting hits put out on you..<\/strong><\/p>\n

Regardless, we are definitely turned off by the sport of boxing…for now.<\/p>\n
