{"id":13507,"date":"2012-07-05T03:07:46","date_gmt":"2012-07-05T03:07:46","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2012-07-05T03:07:46","modified_gmt":"2012-07-05T03:07:46","slug":"Amateur-Lydia-Ko-in-awe-of-US-Open-setting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=13507","title":{"rendered":"Amateur Lydia Ko in awe of US Open setting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>World No 1 amateur Lydia Ko will become only the second amateur from New Zealand to play at the US Open when she tees off tomorrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ko<\/strong>, who became the youngest winner in both men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s professional golf when she claimed the NSW Open, has a history of rising to the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>The enormity of playing the US Open &#8211; the only other Kiwi amateur to feature was Olivia Hartley in 1999 &#8211; is not lost on the Gulf Harbour teen.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Being around and playing with the world&#8217;s best is overwhelming,&#8221; said Ko from Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Words can&#8217;t explain how awesome it is.
