Jason Kidd and Felton will be the Knicks’ point guards next season.

The Knicks have until Tuesday at midnight to reconsider letting Lin to go Houston, but the organization is apparently not happy with how his deal with the Rockets materialized.

Writes Berman, “The Knicks were bitter because they told Lin immediately the club would match the original offer and Lin apparently shared the information with the Rockets. Lin and Houston then plotted to redo it. Lin secretly flew into Las Vegas without informing the Knicks to renegotiate the contract and sign it.”

New York was ready to match Houston’s initial offer of four years, $28.9 ($19 million guaranteed), but the re-negotiated deal will pay Lin $15 million in the third year, which would put the Knicks into prohibitive luxury-tax territory.

But Peter Diepenbrock, Lin’s coach at Palo Alto High School, told Yahoo! Sports, that Lin was surprised by the Knicks’ decision.

“He did not see this happening. … He loves the New York fans,” Diepenbrock told the site. “To have the experience that he had for the two months and for that to be over with, that’s quite a shock to the system. I think he really believed the Knicks would match whatever offer he got.”

Going back to February, when Lin had his run of high-scoring games and led the Knicks to eight wins in nine games, most of which came with Anthony out, there have been questions about whether Lin’s pick-and-roll, ball-distributing style would mesh with Anthony’s isolation approach. Lin closed the year out with a knee injury, so the debate never had time to get too heated, but it may have been an issue heading into training camp, even after coach Mike Woodson declared that Lin would be the team’s starter.

Anthony said Saturday that he wanted Lin to remain his teammate. But he followed that up with this remark on Sunday: “It’s up to the organization to say that they want to match that ridiculous contract.”

We always knew Melo was jealous of Lin! Knicks are crazy! Just look how Lin upped the ticket prices! They had a whole new lucrative set of fans: Asian Americans!
