Shimabukuro describes recording the album as a \u201ctruly magical experience for me. I\u2019m just excited.\u201d<\/b> All the tracks on the album (a mix of original songs, as well as covers) were played and recorded live. <b>\u201cThere were absolutely no overdubs,\u201d<\/b> notes Shimabukuro. <b>\u201cBringing all these people together, and everyone brings their own experience, their own background, their own interpretation, their own spirit, and love and passion for music.\u201d<\/B><\/p>\n<p><B>Jake Shimabukuro \u201cfuses a multitude of genres\u201d (Billboard) on the new LP, which can be heard on album highlight \u201cIsland Fever Blues,\u201d merging classical &#038; blues over a fast-paced flamenco beat.<\/B> Elsewhere on the album Jake tackles the playing style of the mandolin (\u201cGentlemandolin\u201d), rockabilly (\u201cMore Ukulele\u201d) and surf rock (\u201cUkulele Five \u2013 0\u201d), and even transforms his instrument to mimic the intricate melody of a music box (\u201cMusic Box\u201d). <B>\u2018Grand Ukulele\u2019 also features covers of Adele\u2019s \u201cRolling In the Deep,\u201d Sting\u2019s \u201cFields of Gold\u201d and the Judy Garland classic \u201cOver the Rainbow.\u201d<\/B> <strong>Here\u2019s the tracklisting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Akaka Falls<\/p>\n<p><B>Produced by Alan Parsons, assistant engineer of the Beatles \u201cAbbey Road\u201d and Pink Floyd\u2019s \u201cDark Side of The Moon.\u201d Orchestration for the CD was done by Kip Winger, and it\u2019s a real treat. The album will not only take Jake to the next level, but is poised to redefine the Ukulele itself. Jake\u2019s version of \u201cOver The Rainbow\u201d is completely \u201cover the top\u201d and his cover version of \u201cRolling In The Deep\u201d is incredible.<\/B><\/p>\n<p>The album will be released on October 2, 2012.
