Located in SoHo at 372 West Broadway and designed by up-and-coming interior designer, Kyle Schuneman, the boutique reflected creatively woven elements of the past with the present in a very modern, clean, and fresh way to mirror the brand’s campaign.

The iconic brand dovetailed the store concept with a focus on Woolite machine wash detergent, which has a special formula to help protect clothes by not causing fading, shrinking and stretching.

The WooliteWashed Boutique featured the latest fashions, all pre-washed in Woolite, to bring to life the brand’s key product benefi ts. Within the boutique, consumers could purchase limited-edition fashion items from five notable designers. 100% of the proceeds were donated to Save the Children, a nonprofi
t that operates in over 120 countries, saving children’s lives, fighting for their rights and helping them fulfi ll their potential.

Great for down comforters!
This year, instead of bringing my Down comforter in for its end-of-the-summer cleaning, I decided to handwash it in Woolite! Yes, I tried because I just love the Woolite smell! Best decision ever! It’s cleaner, softer and fresher smelling than the drycleaner’s!

Fill your bathtub up ¼ full of water

While it’s filling up, pour a cap of Woolite everday into the tub.

Lay your down comforter in the tub, then handwash, scrub, squeeze and even stomp. (lol)

Twist dry. This is tough part, since it’s HEAVY.

Put in dryer with tennis balls. This will keep lumps from settling in. You might have to dry up to 3 times.

OMG! Perfect smelling, clean comforter!

I should also mention if you have a big enough washer, you can wash the comforter in cold water, gentle cycle, extra rinse.

Scientists washed clothes in all colors, multiple times, and in multiple temperatures to discover these MythBusters:

For laundry to be thoroughly cleaned and rid of germs, you must use hotwater.
FALSE: Modern detergents are formulated to work better with cold water. Additionally, hot water does not kill all germs. Only a harsh chlorine bleach or a specially formulated laundry sanitizer will do this.

The more foam and suds a detergent produces, the more effective it is at cleaning clothes.
FALSE: Always use the recommended amount of detergent for your load size. Detergent is formulated to clean clothes effectively using a precise dose per load.

A detergent is more effective if it contains more ingredients and has a thicker consistency.
FALSE: Salt is used to thicken the consistency of formulas and does not change the
chemical make-up of the detergent.

All laundry detergents should be blue.
FALSE: American consumers perceive the color blue as “safe” and believe that any other color may stain clothing after wash. However, laundry dyes used in the US are completely water soluble and do not deposit dyes or leave stains on clothes.

Bluing agents are the only laundry additives that make your clothes white.
FALSE: Detergents that contain optical brighteners can also do this. These ingredients refl ect the whites in clothes towards the blue-side of the light spectrum and make them appear brighter (though not actually turning them whiter).

Putting clothes through the dryer causes thinning and pilling of the fabric.
FALSE: Most laundry detergents contain active enzymes which slowly eat away at the fi bers of certain fabrics, eventually wearing them down and causing pilling.

@wooliteus
#woolitewashed

Did you ever think doing your laundry could be an educational experience?
