Yotam Solomon unveiled \u201cWar in Iraq\u201d during New York Fashion Week 2012.<\/strong> Solomon\u2019s collection is inspired by the major historical events and their consequences on the world. Focusing specifically on battling terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan and the effects on society, Solomon demonstrated how cultural clashes change our lives and history through fashion. The collection relates to the way we, and our governments, operate to raise awareness and understanding about the current occupancy of the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the success of the \u2019Oil Spill\u2019 collection, designed to raise awareness and funds to clean the BP Spill, and my \u2018Drug & DNA\u2019 Collection, I wanted to create a line that was inspired by the Iraq war and it\u2019s relation to our society, personal life, and future as humans,\u201d says Solomon. \u201cLiving in Hollywood is nothing close to being in a battle field, from parties to gym sessions, one seldom thinks of war.\u201d Solomon grew up in Israel where he was exposed to actual battles and learned at a young age the importance of seeking the truth and not always believing your government\u2019s political agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cWar in Iraq\u201d offers a wide range of personalized options for trims and colors.<\/strong> The collection is all about individualism using army life and desert living motifs as recurring thought-provoking themes. Details such as cutouts, exotic skins, natural fibers, hand stitched overlay trims, contrasting colors inspired by different opinions, and custom low impact dyes create this revolutionary and politically charged collection.<\/p>\n

During the past year the Yotam Solomon brand has collaborated on new collections and has sparked interest from his Hollywood neighbors including Stacy Keibler, Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian, and Nikki Reed, as well as companies such as Coca-Cola and LG.
