Chris Christie has nominated two people to the New Jersey Supreme Court.<\/strong> One is a lower-court judge who would become the first Asian-American to serve on the state&#8217;s highest court if confirmed by the state Senate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Bauman is currently the presiding judge for the civil division of the Superior Court in Monmouth County.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nThe 56-year-old Holmdel resident was born in Japan to a Japanese mother and an American father of German and Irish heritage who was serving in the U.S. Navy.<\/strong> He immigrated to the United States when he was 3.<\/p>\n<p>The other nominee is Robert Hanna. The 54-year-old Madison resident is president of the state Board of Public Utilities, a quasi-judicial agency that oversees the state&#8217;s regulated utilities.<br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
