Eww"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The body of a Chicago man mysteriously poisoned with cyanide less than a month after winning $1 million in a lottery scratcher will be exhumed Friday as authorities try to determine exactly how he died, RadarOnline.com is reporting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Cook County medical examiner will exhume the body of Urooj Khan this morning from a cemetery in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>The Cook County medical examiner will exhume the body of Urooj Khan on Friday morning from a cemetery in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Khan, 46, showed off his golden ticket in a ceremony at a Chicago 7-Eleven on June 26, 2012. A $425,000 check, Khan\u2019s winnings after taxes, was issued July 19. The next day \u2013 on July 20 \u2013 after eating dinner at home, Khan began screaming in bed, and he was rushed to the hospital where he died.<\/p>\n<p>Cook County Chief Medical Examiner <strong>Dr. Steve Cina said the deceased lottery winner was put through \u201cexternal examination (and) basic toxicology testing,\u201d<\/strong> proper protocol in such a situation.<\/p>\n<p>The initial cause of death was ruled arterial sclerotic cardiovascular disease, a natural ailment that typically impacts victims of heart attacks and strokes.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Cina said a family member told the examining doctor \u201cthey felt uncomfortable that it was being ruled a natural death and they suggested that we look into it further,\u201d which they did in September, revealing the presence of cyanide.<\/p>\n<p>A test two months later uncovered \u201ca lethal level of cyanide,\u201d leading to Khan\u2019s death being reclassified as a homicide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s pretty unusual,\u201d Dr. Cina said of the cyanide. \u201cI\u2019ve had one, maybe two cases out of 4,500 autopsies I\u2019ve done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chicago police, dubbing Khan\u2019s death an \u201congoing investigation,\u201d have yet to make an arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities hope a forensic autopsy will produce more evidence and tests on Khan\u2019s organs may determine whether the poison was swallowed, inhaled or injected.<\/p>\n<p>The medical examiner expects to finish the autopsy today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Khan\u2019s winning ticket was eventually cashed after his death \u2013 on August 15<\/strong>;
