Charice\u2019s mom Racquel Pempengco says there\u2019s no reason for her daughter to apologize for being a lesbian, reports the Inquirer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had known for quite a while,\u201d Pempengco said.<\/p>\n

The mother says she has accepted her daughter for who she is, but admits the two haven\u2019t talked since April 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cI tried engaging her in a heart-to-heart, but she wouldn\u2019t talk.\u201d<\/p>\n

She disagrees with the way Charice publicly acknowledged her sexual preference and would have preferred that her daughter keep it a secret.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Do we need to do this in front of the cameras?\u2019 Why didn\u2019t she tell me when I tried talking to her?\u201d<\/p>\n

The rift between mom and daughter is ironic since Racquel has acknowledged she too was a lesbian before she married Charice\u2019s father.<\/strong> The two were divorced before he was murdered in 2011.<\/strong><\/p>\n
