{"id":15617,"date":"2013-06-11T19:06:51","date_gmt":"2013-06-11T19:06:51","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2013-06-11T19:06:51","modified_gmt":"2013-06-11T19:06:51","slug":"Dev-Patel-to-Play-Ramanujan-in-Big-Screen-Bipoic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=15617","title":{"rendered":"Dev Patel to Play Ramanujan in Big Screen Bipoic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two biopics on the fascinating life of Ramanujan, which has all the twists and turns of a gripping story, are currently in the making. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The first one stars actor Dev Patel of \u201cSlumdog Millionaire\u201d fame, who will be seen playing the role of Ramanujan.<\/strong> The untitled film is based on the book \u201cThe Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life of the Genius Ramanujan,\u201d written by Robert Kanigel. The film is being produced by Prashita Chaudhary and Hollywood producer Edward R Pressman. The shoot of the film will start in September, and will take place mainly in India and London, where Ramanujan came up with his mathematical theories and analysis.<\/p>\n<p>The second biopic, a Tamil-English bilingual, has young actor Abhinay playing Ramanujan on the silver screen. Abhinay is the grandson of Gemini Ganesan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ramanujan was born Dec. 22, 1887 in Erode, Tamil Nadu.<\/strong> He died at the very young age of 32. The mathematician and autodidact had no formal training in pure mathematics.
