{"id":16889,"date":"2014-02-19T02:02:35","date_gmt":"2014-02-19T02:02:35","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2014-02-19T02:02:35","modified_gmt":"2014-02-19T02:02:35","slug":"Kim-Yu-na-wins-short-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=16889","title":{"rendered":"Kim Yu-na wins short program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>We finally got a chance to watch Kim Yu-na compete in the women&#8217;s figure skating event in Sochi.<\/strong> And she didn&#8217;t disappoint as she delivered what Michelle Kwan described as, &#8216;breath taking&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And as the &#8216;Figure Queen&#8217; performed in her last Olympic short program of her illustrious career she scores a season best 74.92 good for 1st overall.<\/strong> And despite it being lower than her Vancouver score of 78.50 her performance left many experts speechless as she hopes to claim her second straight gold on Day-13.<\/p>\n<p>When it happened, the crowd was stunned. And Kim had the lead &#8212; surprisingly over the other Russian woman in the field, Adelina Sotnikova &#8212; by only .28 points.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s Carolina Kostner, second at worlds last year to Kim, was third, just .80 behind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>U.S. champion Gracie Gold of Chicago, second to Lipnitskaia in the team free skate, had a clean short program that earned her 68.63 points for fourth place.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"500\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tWiot1LTrIw\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We finally got a chance to watch Kim Yu-na compete in the women&#8217;s figure skating event in Sochi.
