Whether you go by Uber’s $17 billion pre-money valuation or the $18.2 billion it is figured to be worth after raising $1.2 billion on Friday, the company has realigned the universe of venture-backed businesses.<\/p>\n
The San Francisco mobile ride-sharing company led by CEO Travis Kalanick is now far more highly valued than any other venture-backed company in the world after its record round last week.<\/p>\n
Such huge funding rounds and high valuations have led to speculation about whether a new tech bubble has formed, the subject of this week’s cover story in the Silicon Valley Business Journal.<\/p>\n
Venture database research company CB Insights compiled the following ranking of how it compares with the rest of the 10 most highly valued venture-backed businesses.<\/p>\n
It used the higher post-money valuation for Uber.<\/strong> The other valuations used are the highest available from government filings, announcements and press reports.<\/p>\n 1.
