LOL!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The non-profit group that oversees international coding standards for smiley faces and other mobile characters is working on a range of skin-tones \u2014 including the existing yellow and five other shades.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Unicode Consortium yesterday submitted a proposal for improving the uniformity of emoticons, which included suggestions for making emojis more diverse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople all over the world want to have emoji that reflect more human diversity, especially for skin tone,\u201d read the proposal on the consortium\u2019s Web site.<\/p>\n<p>The working draft of Unicode Version 8.0, which is due next year, draws on the Fitzpatrick dermatology scale for six tones.<\/p>\n<p>Activists have been calling for black and other non-white characters. The standard emoji face, used to represent the users\u2019 mood in text messages, is actually yellow in color with a round face and no hair.<\/p>\n<p>hmmmm which one represents an Asian? Let me guess, the yellow? He doesn&#8217;t look quite like an Asian guy does he?
