{"id":18155,"date":"2014-12-12T23:12:52","date_gmt":"2014-12-12T23:12:52","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2014-12-12T23:12:52","modified_gmt":"2014-12-12T23:12:52","slug":"Facebook-dismisses-dislike-button-as-too-negative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=18155","title":{"rendered":"Facebook dismisses \u2018dislike\u2019 button as too negative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mark Zuckerberg is now controlling our emotions too&#8230;.because you know, we can&#8217;t not &#8216;like&#8217; something. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The world\u2019s biggest social network considered adding a \u201cdislike\u201d button and then dismissed it as a bad idea.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he was concerned that people would use it to spread negativity, according to Bloomberg News.<\/p>\n<p>While a \u201cdislike\u201d button isn\u2019t coming anytime soon, the company is exploring other ways to allow people to express a range of emotions \u2014 both good and bad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of times people share things on Facebook that are sad moments in their lives,\u201d Zuckerberg said Thursday at a question-and-answer session at the company\u2019s Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s the right way to make it so people can easily express a broader range of emotions? To empathize?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maybe we don&#8217;t want to empathize? so right now on facebook, according to one man, we are allowed to express empathy and like?
