{"id":18167,"date":"2014-12-16T23:12:41","date_gmt":"2014-12-16T23:12:41","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-10-15T14:16:18","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T14:16:18","slug":"north-korea-is-behind-sony-hack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asiancemagazine.com\/?p=18167","title":{"rendered":"North Korea is behind Sony hack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A U.S. official says federal investigators have now connected the Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. hacking to North Korea and are expected to make an announcement in the near future.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nThe official spoke on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to openly discuss an ongoing criminal case.<\/p>\n<p>Until Wednesday, <strong>the Obama administration had been saying it was not immediately clear who might have been responsible for the computer break-in.<\/strong> North Korea has publicly denied it was involved.<\/p>\n<p>The unidentified hackers had demanded that Sony cancel its upcoming release of the movie \u201cThe Interview,\u201d a comedy that included a gruesome scene depicting the assassination of North Korea\u2019s leader. Sony today cancelled the Dec. 25 release after the hackers had released sensitive corporate files stolen in the break-in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We can understand the cancellation.
