\nManny Pacquiao, who suffered defeat at the fists of Floyd Mayweather Jr. during the \u201cFight of the Century\u201d on Saturday, has been hit with a class-action lawsuit over the rotator cuff injury that he sustained prior to the fight.<\/p>\n

In the suit, Nevada residents Staphane Vanel and Kami Rahbaran, who say they paid to see the bout, claim that Pacquiao and fight promoter Top Rank Inc. concealed the fact that the Filipino fighter had been injured prior to the contest<\/strong>, and only disclosed the injury until shortly before the fight \u2014 after fans had already ordered pay-per-view, bought tickets and\/or placed wagers.<\/p>\n

The suit claims that Pacquiao checked the \u201cNo\u201d box on a Nevada Athletic Commission [NAC] questionnaire that asked whether he had an injured shoulder, while Top Flight failed to disclose the injury to the NAC prior to the fight \u201cas required by Nevada law.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c[A]t the time the Plaintiffs and the Class decided to purchase ticket; purchase pay-per-view or wagered on the Event the Defendants knew and had full knowledge and information that Defendant Pacquiao had been seriously injured and was suffering from a torn rotator cuff,\u201d the suit reads. \u201cDefendants further know that such injury would severely affect his performance in the Event.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a result of the alleged concealment, the suit says, \u201cPlaintiffs and the class members suffered ascertainable losses consisting of the purchase price of the tickets; purchase price of pay-per-view showings and wagers that were placed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pacquiao\u2019s lawyer has not yet responded to TheWrap\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Alleging fraudulent concealment, statutory consumer fraud and conspiracy to commit consumer fraud, the suit is seeking unspecified damages.<\/p>\n
