This arbitrary divide soon became a border and military frontline before and during the Korean War. An Armistice temporarily ceased fighting on the Korean peninsula and established the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) along the 38th parallel. A peace treaty was never signed, and to this day, Korea remains in a state of war.

The National Campaign to End the Korean War is bringing the DMZ back to Washington D.C. Join us from July 25-27 for a series of events that show how we continue to be affected by the division and demand the U.S. government end the Korean War by signing a peace treaty.

SUNDAY, JULY 25, 2-4pm
Capitol Reflecting Pool Plaza (between 1st St NW and 3rd St NW)
“100 Bojagi for Peace”
This interactive art installation in front of the Capitol will feature 100 bojagi (traditional Korean bundles carried by refugees during the war) with audio and written recollections by Korean Americans and Canadians during the Korean War.
