Meg Whitman landed in San Jose on Saturday to target a certain kind of voter–Asian Americans.<\/p>\n
The former eBay chief began her day at a Vietnamese restaurant with plans to visit Koreatown in LA and ending up in the heavily Asian American San Gabriel Valley.<\/p>\n
Whitman has been slipping in the polls to opponent Jerry Brown and according to a Public Policy Institute of California poll, currently falls 8 points behind.<\/p>\n
When asked about the decline, Whitman said, “The polls are all over the place. I’m going to fight for every vote in every part of the state.”<\/p>\n
Whitman asked for advice from supporters on how to reach the Vietnamese community and told potential voters that Asian American support was crucial.<\/p>\n
“You are a very important group that could actually swing the outcome of this election,” said Whitman.<\/p>\n
