Over a third of adult Americans own a tablet, and almost a quarter of them own a eReader, according to the Pew Research Center’s Internet Project.<\/p>\n
The number of people in this country 16 and older who own a tablet has grown to 35%, and the share who have an eReader such as a Kindle or Nook has grown to 24%. The the total number of adults who have one or both of these devices now stands at 43%, up from 25% last year.<\/p>\n
The survey found that 36% of women own a tablet, while 34% of men do.<\/p>\n
According to the Pew Research Center, 50% of Asian-Americans own one or more tablets, 37% of Hispanics do, 35% of whites, and 29% of blacks.<\/p>\n
The same survey found that 46% of those in the 16-17 range own a tablet, 37% of those 18 to 29 have one, 44% in the 30-49 range, 31% of those 50 to 64, and 18% in those over 65 do.<\/p>\n
Almost half of those who have a college degree own a tablet, 36% of those with some college have one or more of these mobile computers, 28% of those with just a high school diploma have one, and 21% of adults who have no high school diploma own a tablet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
