\u201cThe highest honor we can pay Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is to re-commit ourselves to fighting for the causes that defined his life and work. On January 25, 1965 Dr. King told the congregation at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama that \u201cthe civil rights bill, as marvelous as it is, is only the beginning of a new day and not the end of a journey…\u201d<\/p>\n
The civil rights challenges of that day \u2013 among them voting rights, police and community relations, economic opportunity, and an equitable criminal justice system \u2013 are still with us today.
